Carnival of Hope: Al Furqan’s Fundraiser Brings Communities Together for Quality Education

Karachi, Pakistan – Al Furqan Welfare Organization hosted a vibrant and impactful Fundraiser Carnival at Habitt City, Tipu Sultan, Karachi, on November 30 and December 1, 2024. The event, aimed at supporting quality education for underprivileged communities, turned out to be a resounding success, thanks to the unwavering support of sponsors, partners, vendors and the tireless efforts of the organization’s management team.

The festivities were graced by the presence of renowned actor Mr. Behroze Sabzwari on Day 1. On Day 2, Mr. Rizwan Adhia, Governor General of the Rotary Club Karachi New Central (RCKNC), was joined by Mr. Kamran Habib, Chartered President of RCKNC, and Ms. Durdana Arshad, a valued member of the RCKNC, adding further distinction to the event. Their inspiring presence highlighted the importance of Al Furqan’s mission. “The carnival is exceptional and beyond expectations; the students’ performances reflect how wonderfully Al Furqan is grooming them,” remarked Mr. Adhia. Ms. Rubina Faryal Asif, President of Al Furqan Welfare Organization, expressed her gratitude, stating, “It is very encouraging to see so many people joining us to support our cause while enjoying the carnival’s vibrant atmosphere.”

The carnival offered a wide range of activities and attractions for all age groups. A cultural show celebrating the diverse ethnicities of Pakistan fueled a deep sense of patriotism and unity among attendees. Talent shows showcased the incredible skills of Al Furqan students, adding energy and excitement to the atmosphere. Shopping enthusiasts delighted in arts, crafts, clothing, accessories, and food stalls that also supported small businesses.

Specially curated zones like the AF Creative Hub, featuring student artwork, and the AF Art Enclave, designed for children, offered engaging activities such as tote bag painting, keychain making, face painting, and hand painting. The AF Gaming Arcade added another layer of fun with obstacle courses, games crafted by teachers, and a thrilling VR adventure.

The event’s significance was further enhanced by the contributions of its activity partners. House of Pebbles, our wellness partner, hosted an engaging stage show focused on promoting mental well-being and teaching calming techniques. ConnectHear, as the inclusivity partner, conducted an interactive session to raise awareness about the deaf community, featuring a mini sign language workshop. Children were captivated by a fun-filled storytelling session organized by The Citizens Foundation, while Buzzing Beez, our fun and fund partner, generously shared a portion of their revenue with Al Furqan. Additionally, Bol TV provided valuable media coverage as our media partner, helping to amplify our message and reach a wider audience.

Al Furqan Welfare Organization extends heartfelt thanks to its sponsors—Humra Khan, Humra Khan Fashion and Zakia Taki, Care to Share—as well as all vendors and volunteers who made this event possible.

Over the past 12 years, Al Furqan has grown from serving just 16 students to positively impacting the lives of over 3,000 students across 16 branches in underserved communities. Events like this carnival play a vital role in furthering its mission to provide free, quality education.
