
Annual Iftar Fundraiser ‘24: Raising to Erase Illiteracy Together!
Dedicated to the noble cause of education, a gathering convened on the evening of March 23rd, 2024, at the Movenpick Hotel for the Annual Iftar Fundraiser. This inspiring event, made possible through the generous sponsorship of Bank Alfalah and Jubilee Life Insurance, brought together 250 guests from various sectors, including esteemed donors, corporate supporters, dedicated team members, and representatives from media outlets who all came together to show their support and appreciation towards our mission.
Among the distinguished guests were H.E. Herman Hardynata Ahmad, the Malaysian Consul General, and H.E. Bakheet Ateeq Al Romaithi, UAE Consul General, was represented by his sons, Atiq & Syed who attended the event in his stead, enhancing the significance of the occasion. Additionally, the event was graced by Mr. Abdul Raheem, Head of Operations at Bank Alfalah, Mr. Syed Usman Qaiser, Head of Marketing at Jubilee Life Insurance, Shahnaz Ramzi, President of RCK New Central, and Mrs. Asma Ali Shah of AO Clinic, are a few notable guests.
The primary focus of the event was to raise funds to further our mission in providing education. Our 5-year goal is to double the number of students enrolled in our schools and to expand our geographical reach by establishing new school branches within Karachi as well as in Sindh. As we move forward, we also aim to expand our outreach to other provinces, to widen the scope of our impact and to empower communities across the nation with access to quality education and essential resources.
This event served as a pivotal moment for collaboration with the corporate sector, marking a significant step towards amplifying our impact. Industry leaders from diverse sectors attended, endorsing Al Furqan’s mission and fortifying our resolve to make a tangible difference in the lives of underserved communities.
As the evening unfolded, the event was graced by Qari Ehtisham who commenced the event with a Dua, followed by captivating performances on “Lab pe Ati hai Dua” by our students of Branch 1 from Classes KG I-VI, showing the power of hope and faith in overcoming challenges. This offered a glimpse into the opportunities provided by Al Furqan and highlighted our commitment to making quality education accessible to underserved communities in Karachi. Our student, Aneeq of Branch 1,Class V, prepared a heartfelt speech about his own journey at our school and the opportunities that Al Furqan has provided for him for a better future. Our president, Rubina Faryal Asif, extended a warm welcome to all guests, acknowledging the remarkable journey we’ve undertaken thus far, appreciated the performances by our students, and emphasized our commitment to achieving our long-term goals in advancing our mission.
The event garnered media attention from reputable outlets such as Dawn, 24 News, and City 21 News channels for which we are immensely grateful. Their coverage helped amplify our message and broaden our reach to a wider audience.
With each contribution and pledge of support, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to shaping a brighter future for generations to come. As we bid farewell to this memorable evening, we carry with us the collective hope and determination to continue our mission of making education a beacon of opportunity for all.
